Bohumil Vostal

I am a journalist. I worked as a correspondent for Czech Television in Brussels (2012-17), London (2018-22), and in Washington, D.C. (2022-25). I covered the U.S. elections in 2024, including the historic presidential nomination of Kamala Harris and the inauguration of President Donald Trump in 2025.

In 2024, my book about the royal sculptor Franta Belsky, titled Sculpting the Queen of England, received one of the Egon Erwin Kisch Awards for non-fiction.

In England, I covered the wedding of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, the funeral of Prince Philip, the Platinum Jubilee, and the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. I also had the chance to interview HRH Prince Edward. In 2018, I produced a TV documentary about Czech exiles in England called Forgotten Protests, which was shortlisted for the FPA Awards in London.

From 2000 to 2005, I was a freelance newsreader for the Czech Section of the BBC World Service in Prague.
